| 1. Consultation. To get started, we
recommend a 4 hour brainstorming session.
This sessions leaves you with sketches, lots of ideas, and no
obligation. If you are planning an addition, Kate will come to you, take
quick measurements of your existing house, and together we will
brainstorm the best approach to your project. If you are planning a new
home, we can meet at a location convenient to you. You tell us your wish
list, and we will make a series of sketches. There is a lot of back and
forth between us in this session.
With your input and feedback, we develop scenarios that will result in
your "aha!" and a starting point for the project. These sketches will
allow us to give you a ballpark estimate, and can be used to get a
preliminary price from a builder. At this point, you may decide whether
to retain our services to complete the drawings.
The fee for a four-hour week day consultation, for projects within a
short distance, is $400. There is an extra charge for evenings,
weekends, and longer commutes.
